Qatar Airways said its aircraft operating the Lagos–Doha route returned safely to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, after the flight crew detected a technical issue while the plane was airborne on Friday. The airline said the aircraft, flight QR1406, was turned back as a precautionary measure in line with international aviation safety procedures and landed without incident. The plane was carrying 248 passengers and 12 crew members at the time of the incident. The Anambra Police Command says it has arrested a suspect, Friday Akonobi, in connection with the alleged abduction and murder of a six-year-old girl from Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
