Troops of the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army have rescued 11 kidnapped victims in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State following a coordinated operation along the Kaduna–Abuja road. The development was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Tuesday. Cote d’Ivoire will host the competition from from Friday, 27 February to Saturday, 7 March 2026. Ghana and Senegal are the two other countries that will be participating in the competition. The Adamawa State Police Command has urged members of the public to report cases of police misconduct rather than engage in physical confrontation with officers. The call was made by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement shared on Facebook on Tuesday. The Nigerian government said it has released N50 billion out of the N200 billion promised Needs Assessment Fund as part of the recent agreement reached with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Sunday, the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, said another N50 billion will soon be released, bringing the total to N100 billion.
