Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle will be in attendance when Rangers host Bendel Insurance in a matchday 37 encounter at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Sunday (today). Chelle is scouting for local players ahead of the 2026 Unity Cup. The 48-year-old was in attendance during Shooting Stars’ clash with Nasarawa United last weekend. The Malian was also at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Onikan, Lagos on Tuesday to scout  players. Chelle is expected to release his squad list for the invitational friendly tournament this week. Gunmen have opened fire on the head office of a local security outfit, codenamed OSPAC, at Erema Street in Omoku town, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, injuring one officer. OSPAC is the acronym for Onelga Security and Peace Advisory Committee. The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a security officer attached to the Ondo State General Hospital, Igbotako, in Okitipupa Local Government Area, and another suspect over the alleged vandalism and theft of the hospital’s property. The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday. According to the police spokesperson, the prime suspect, identified as Promise Godspower, allegedly gained unlawful access to the hospital premises, vandalised electrical installations within the facility, and carted away electrical cables before his arrest. Former presidential candidate, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has blasted the 2027 elections timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. In a statement on Sunday, Olawepo-Hashim described the timetable it as impractical and insensitive to Nigeria’s political realities. According to him, the electoral calendar did not provide sufficient time for political parties to conduct transparent primaries and other internal democratic processes. The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspects identified as Adeola Mathew and Rasheed Omoniyi for conspiracy and unlawful possession of firearms in Ifo local government area of the state. The suspects were arrested at about 6:30 a.m, at their criminal hideout along Ibogun Road, NITEL Area, Ifo, on Friday. In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the arrest followed an intelligence-led operation.
