Members of the Anambra State House of Assembly have called on the state government to direct the Head of Service, Theodora Igwegbe, to conduct a personnel audit across MDAs in the state. Following the recent public appeal for financial assistance to fund brain tumour surgery put out by Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar, the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has lifted the indefinite suspension it placed on her. In October 2024, the Guild suspended the actress after a two-year investigation by a panel it established showed that Halima slandered some of her colleagues. The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has extended its electronic membership registration from 31st January to 8th February 2026. A statement by the party’s National spokesman, Felix Morka, on Friday, said the extension is to enable more supporters and members to register and validate their membership. A 19-year-old teenager has been remanded in Adamawa State for allegedly attempting to kill a 9-year-old boy for ritual purpose. The teenager, Istifanus Bitrus, is currently before the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Yola, for allegedly attempting to kill the 9-year-old boy for money ritual. A Federal High Court in Abuja, on Friday, admitted a Nollywood Actress, Angela Okorie, to a N5 million bail with one surety in like sum for allegedly cyberbullying Mercy Johnson-Okojie, who is also an actress.
