Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has approved the deposition of Oba Joseph Oloyede as the Apetumodu of Ipetumodu in Ife North Local Government Area of the state. The power station located at Temidire/Ajeja along Ikirun Road was attacked by the armed robbers numbering about six. The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons said the Supreme Court has affirmed the conviction and sentence of a human trafficking convict for trafficking, procurement for prostitution, and organising foreign travel that promotes prostitution. NAPTIP disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the apex court, in a unanimous judgment delivered on May 8, 2026, upheld the earlier decisions of the trial court and the Court of Appeal. Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a businessman in Irawo, Atisbo Local Government Area of Oyo State, in an attack that also left a 10-year-old girl injured. The incident occurred on Monday after the victim was reportedly trailed from Kraal Market, Ago-Are, to his filling station and later to his residence, where he was seized at gunpoint and taken to an unknown destination.
