Nigeria’s dependence on imported petrol declined further in April as domestic refineries increased output and operated at near full capacity, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has said. The authority disclosed this in its latest April fact sheet published on its website. According to the report, domestic refineries recorded an average capacity utilisation of 99.12 per cent in April, with Dangote Refinery achieving 100 per cent capacity utilisation for most days in the month. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have intercepted a large consignment of Canadian Loud, a high-potency strain of cannabis, weighing 4,173.5 kilograms, with an estimated street value of N10.43bn at the Tincan Island Port in Lagos.
