Pharmacists under the platform of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria, ACPN, have advised the federal government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to provide free antivenom drugs for citizens. ACPN noted that this is necessary to prevent frequent deaths from snakebite across the country. A Sharia Court sitting in Katagum, Bauchi State, has sentenced Ibrahim Umar, popularly known as Maidada, to life imprisonment after convicting him of killing two men identified as Kabiru Idi and Muhammad Bello. The accused was said to have murdered the victims in Taranka Forest and subsequently buried them in a grave he had dug. The Lagos State Government has warned individuals and groups against assuming or parading unauthorised chieftaincy titles. It described the trend as illegal and disruptive to public order.
