Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) of the Lapai branch of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) in Niger State have begun an indefinite strike over the alleged non-implementation of key provisions of the 2025 federal government-ASUU agreement by the state government. Severe traffic congestion is ongoing along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway following a trailer accident that occurred at around 1am on Tuesday. PUNCH Metro gathered that the trailer fell on the expressway at around 1am and was yet to be removed as of Tuesday morning, leaving motorists with only one available lane to navigate the affected section. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested and interrogated a 38-year-old man, Raheem Wasiu, accused of defrauding Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in the South-east of $12,000. In a statement posted on its Facebook page on Monday, the EFCC said operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested the suspect, Mr Wasiu, and handed him over to the anti-graft agency’s Enugu Zonal Directorate.
