Ghana on Thursday held a landmark global conference seeking to translate growing political support for slavery reparations into practical commitments towards justice. The United Nations in March adopted a landmark resolution that recognised that the transatlantic slave trade was “the gravest crime against humanity”. The Adamawa State Police command has arrested a nocturios three -man gang terrorising residents of  Yola, the state capital and communities. The command’s spokesman SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement issued on Thursday, disclosed that operatives of D15 in the Criminal Investigation Department made the arrest during one of it operations. The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has lowered its gantry prices for Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) and Aviation Turbine Kerosene (jet fuel). According to data from Petroleumprice.ng, the Dangote refinery reduced the diesel gantry price by N100, from N1,700 per litre to N1,600 per litre, representing a reduction of 5.9 per cent. Jet fuel prices were also lowered by N100, from N1,550 per litre to N1,450 per litre. Real Madrid confirmed the arrival of defender Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool on Thursday on a four-year deal at the end of his contract at Anfield. The United Arab Emirates announced a social media ban for children under 15 on Thursday, joining a growing group of countries including Australia, Britain and Canada to take similar measures.
