Nnamdi Kanu, the convicted leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has filed a notice of appeal at the Court of Appeal, challenging his conviction and life sentence imposed on him by the Federal High Court in Abuja. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has announced that Terminal 1 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos, will be closed from March 2026 to enable a comprehensive overhaul of the facility. FAAN said the shutdown, expected to last approximately 22 months, is to facilitate major rehabilitation and expansion works aimed at modernising the ageing terminal and significantly improving its passenger handling capacity. Oyo State Police Command on Wednesday arrested seven suspects in connection with murder, cultism and other criminal activities across the state.
