The Jigawa State Police Command has announced a statewide ban on the sale, possession and use of fireworks, knockouts and pili cards during the Christmas and New Year festivities, citing safety and security concerns. The African Democratic Congress, ADC , says it has temporarily closed its National Secretariat as part of the end-of-year break. A statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said full operations are scheduled to resume in the New Year. According to the statement, the secretariat will close on December 23, 2025, and reopen on January 5, 2026. A Special Offences Mobile Court sitting in Oshodi on Monday sentenced a 48-year-old man, Makinde Rasaq, to 13 months of community service at Kirikiri for illegal waste dumping in Lagos.
