The Oyo State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of an armed robbery and truck-hijacking syndicate specialising in the hijacking, diversion and stealing of trucks from unsuspecting drivers within Oyo and neighbouring states, before moving the stolen vehicles to criminal receivers in Kwara State. The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, disclosed in a statement released on Sunday, made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. A pastor abducted alongside another cleric on the Jos-Bokkos road in Plateau State has been found dead, while four other people were reportedly killed in separate attacks in three local government areas of the state. The incidents occurred between Friday night and Saturday, according to reports by conflict journalist Masara Kim and other media outlets. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted 47,200 pills of Captagon, a synthetic amphetamine popularly dubbed the ‘Jihadi drug’, and more than 3.9 million opioid tablets worth over N6.2 billion at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos. According to NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, the seizures were made in separate operations at the airport.
