The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has dismissed claims that domestic airfares are inflated due to multiple taxes, insisting that airlines do not pay the alleged levies and attributing fare increases to normal market forces of demand and supply. A retired Nigerian military officer, Captain Abdullahi Bakoji, has said the reported United States efforts to weaken insurgents can be understood, but warned that such actions could create serious problems if they are not properly coordinated with Nigerian authorities. A tricycle (Keke)  operator and his  female passenger on Sunday, died in a serious accident that occurred at Ohiya area of Umuahia South LGA of Abia State, along the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway. Also, two  other passengers who were inside the tricycle  also suffered multiple fractures  in the accident and were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC Umuahia.
