Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced his withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress governorship primary election in the state. The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria on Wednesday retained the benchmark interest rate at 26.5 per cent, citing rising external risks, renewed inflationary pressure, and the need to sustain exchange rate stability. The CBN Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, announced the decision at the end of the committee’s 305th meeting held in Abuja. Elon Musk’s aerospace company SpaceX reported holding 18,712 Bitcoin worth $1.45 billion in a recent filing, over 10,000 coins more than blockchain tracking firms had estimated. In the company’s S-1 registration statement, filed as part of its bid to become a public company on June 12, SpaceX revealed it purchased Bitcoin (BTC) at an average of $35,320 per coin. Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has inaugurated the TechRise Cohort 3 Training Programme, charging participants to acquire practical digital and problem-solving skills needed to thrive in the modern technology-driven economy. Mr Otti gave the charge on Wednesday at the inauguration of the Abia TechRise Cohort 3 Training Programme in Aba. Public affairs analyst and businessman, Godfrey Ohuabunwa, has raised an alarm over the planned National Broadcasting Commission’s, NBC, digital switch from analogue ahead of the 2027 general election.  In a statement on Wednesday, Ohuabunwa said the move may result in a national disaster and serious risk. According to him, the current approach being implemented by the NBC appears rushed, unclear, and inconsistent with the existing 2012 Digital Switchover (DSO) White Paper approved by the Federal Executive Council.
