Abia State Police Command says it arrested a total of 809 crime suspects and recovered 88 arms from suspects in 438 cases between January 2025 till date. The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested a suspected serial rapist, Annas Sani, over multiple cases of abduction, impersonation and sexual assault involving teenage girls. Briefing journalists on Friday, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Musa, said the suspect, a resident of Gidan Igwai area of Sokoto, was arrested on December 9, 2025, following reports of the abduction and rape of two girls aged 17 and 18. Police investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly operated with a network of accomplices, using deception and intimidation to target young girls. Chelsea have confirmed that Academy forward Chizaram Ezenwata has signed his first professional contract with the club. The Blues disclosed this in a post via its official website on Friday. Ezenwata joined the Premier League west London club from Charlton Athletic during his Under-15s season. The England youth international has since progressed through the ranks at Cobham. The young forward currently leads the scoring charts across all competitions at the Under-18s, with 11 goals so far. The management of the Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State, has announced plans to launch a N100bn Endowment Fund to support the institution’s development needs. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Teddy Adias, disclosed this during a press briefing on Monday ahead of the university’s convocation. The family of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has renewed its call for a post-mortem deoxyribonucleic acid test, rejecting any DNA procedure that relies on samples from the deceased artiste’s relatives to determine the paternity of his son, Liam.
