William Troost-Ekong has revealed the reason behind his decision to retire from international football ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 32-year-old made the announcement via a message on social media on Thursday.
Troost-Ekong was named in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the AFCON 2025 finals on Tuesday.
The centre-back has played a bit-part role for the Super Eagles in recent outings and was still expected to lead the team in Morocco.
