Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh has insisted that Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman chose the ‘disciplined fire’ of Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone, over a payday in Turkey.
Oliseh said this in a tweet via his X account on Wednesday following the conclusion of the winter transfer window on Monday.
Recall that Lookman joined Atletico Madrid from Atalanta on transfer deadline day.
The Nigerian had been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, Fernabahce and Galatasaray before he opted to join the Spanish LaLiga giants.
Speaking about Lookman’s move, Oliseh tweeted, “The transfer window didn’t just close, it detonated.
“ADEMOLA LOOKMAN: He chose the “disciplined fire” of Simeone over a payday in Turkey.
“Is this the move that turns an African star into a Ballon d’Or mainstay? Atletico isn’t just a club; for Lookman, it’s a war for legacy.”
