When Ronnie O’Sullivan reflects on his shock World Championship defeat to Luca Brecel, he will likely rue an “anti-fluke” that cost him the chance of stealing the third frame of the final session.
O’Sullivan was clearly struggling as Brecel won the opening two frames of the final session to go from 10-6 to 10-8 behind.
Brecel missed frame ball when taking on a red to the top left corner wobbled the jaws, so was 54 ahead with 59 remaining.
