Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney has revealed that Viktor Gyokeres is making the difference for the Gunners this season.
According to Rooney, the Sweden international is helping Mikel Arteta’s side by occupying the defenders of opponents.
Gyokeres joined Arsenal from Sporting Lisbon last summer transfer window.
“We saw what Gyokeres did at Sporting, I know it was obviously a different country but he was scoring more goals than anyone and was absolutely on fire,” the former England international said on The Wayne Rooney show.
“I have backed Gyokeres this season and people have given me a bit of stick but I still think he is making a difference for Arsenal, I really do.
“He is occupying defenders and that is helping the team. I know he’s not got the goals or assists you would want from your centre forward but I still think he’s having an impact.”
