Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka has revealed what made the difference in Nigeria’s 3–2 victory over Tunisia at the 2025 AFCON on Saturday.
The Brentford player partnered Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi in midfield as goals from Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman secured the win against the North Africans.
Onyeka put in a strong display against the Carthage Eagles before leaving the pitch after 79 minutes, when he was replaced by Sevilla’s Chidera Ejuke.
Speaking in his post-match interview after the game, the 26-year-old told Ademola Victor that the key factor was the Super Eagles’ high pressing, which denied Tunisia any opportunity to settle into their play.
“The game plan worked really well. We are glad that we are through to the next round,” Onyeka said.
“I think our game plan worked really well. The way we pressed them high didn’t give them any chance to play, so that is what made the difference.”
