A little scene of drama broke out when Senegal’s reserve goalkeeper, Yehvann Diouf, was attacked by Morocco’s ball boys during the AFCON final tie on Sunday.
DAILY POST reports that there was a tense atmosphere in the stadium during the final as attempts were repeatedly made to unsettle Senegal’s first-choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
However, Diouf was active all throughout the game holding the towel of his teammate, Mendy.
The 26-year-old had to fight off the ball boys and a Moroccan player.
The ball boys tried to steal the towel so that Mendy couldn’t wipe his hands.
As a result, Diouf had to guard the towel and engaged in a chase with the ball boys across the entire field.
Meanwhile, Senegal won the match 1-0 after 120 minutes, thanks to Pape Gueye’s goal.
