The Forum of State Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has thrown its weight and loyalty to the factional National Chairman of the party, Umar Damagum.
The chairmen reaffirmed their support in a statement at a meeting on Thursday, dismissing the faction led by Abdulrahman Mohammed as illegitimate.
The Forum, comprising 29 state chairmen, said Damagum remains the only recognised national chairman of the party under the PDP Constitution (2017, as amended).
