Mr Galadima Yusuf, a former Director of Development Control at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), has described the defection of Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba state to the All Progressives Congress, APC, as a blessing for the state.
Yusuf stated this on Monday in an interview with journalists in Jalingo, the state capital.
He said Taraba would benefit immensely from aligning with the party controlling the Federal Government, adding that the state would henceforth enjoy increased federal support and collaboration.
According to Yusuf, who is also an APC chieftain in the state, the governor’s decision to join the ruling party reflects wisdom and a clear commitment to the development of the state.
He urged the people of the state to rally round governor Kefas and support his administration to achieve its transformation agenda.
The former FCDA director expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership, assuring that he would personally support the administration to ensure success.
“I feel the return of governor Agbu Kefas to the APC is a blessing to Taraba State. His decision to key into the vision of President Bola Tinubu and the APC demonstrates uncommon commitment and zeal to take the state to greater heights,” Yusuf said.
He also commended President Bola Tinubu and members of the APC for their solidarity with the government and people of Taraba, particularly their presence at the governor’s defection ceremony held on Saturday.
Kefas, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, recently defected to the APC and was formally received by President Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yelwatda, and other party leaders last Saturday in Taraba.
