The Nigerian government has launched a plan to prevent floods during the rainy season expected to begin in a few weeks.
PREMIUM TIMES reports that Nigeria experiences fatal floods annually with dozens of people killed, thousands of homes, farms and other properties destroyed and millions of people displaced. Some of the states most affected include Kogi, Bayelsa and Borno.
