President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi following the death of his father, Sunday Ndidi.
DAILY POST earlier reported that the Super Eagles captain’s father died in a road accident on Tuesday in Umunede, near Agbor, Delta State.
Tinubu commiserated with Ndidi in a statement released on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The President described the loss as tragic and extended his sympathy to Ndidi and his family.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Sunday Ndidi.
“I share in the grief of his family, friends and associates, particularly Wilfred Ndidi, who shared a strong bond with his father, who served as both mentor and guide in remarkable football career.
“There is no doubt that Sunday’s modest beginnings and integrity left a lasting impact on all who looked up for him for inspiration,” the statement said.
President Tinubu also prayed that God would comfort the Ndidi family and grant eternal rest to the soul of the deceased.
