No fewer than seven persons have been reportedly murdered by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Ejule Ojebe community in Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State, DAILY POST gathered.
It was learnt on Monday that the incident, which occurred on February 7th, had triggered palpable tension in the community.
Sources told our correspondent that the herdsmen, who were recently accepted into the community, gruesomely attacked the indigenes following suspected cattle rustling.
A resident, who does not want to be named, said, “It was January this year that our king gave them permission to stay in our community as they usually do.
“Just recently, the Fulani people alleged that their cows were missing. The next thing we saw people armed with AK-47 shooting everywhere.
“Seven people were killed instantly but many others were injured.
“As it is now, nobody wants to see any Fulani man around our community. There is tension in the land currently because you know what they can do. Nobody knows if they are still coming back.”
