Another motor accident has killed seven people and injured fourteen others in JIgawa state.
Police spokesman, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident in a statement issued to DAILY POST on Monday.
According to the statement, “the accident occurred on Sunday evening along Chaichai -Ringim road.
He explained that, the accident occurred when two vehicles had a head-on-collision at Yakasawa village, Ringim Local Government Area.
“Seven (7) died, while fourteen (14) were admitted to the hospital following an accident that involved a Golf 3 wagon and Sienna at the Yakasawa village area of Ringim local government,” he said.
He said those injured have been taken to Ringim General Hospital and are receiving their treatments.
The Police, however, warned road users to avoid dangerous overtaking, overloading and abide by traffic regulations.
This is coming days after the death of about fifty people in different accidents and canoe capsize in Jigawa State.
Residents, however, related most of the accidents to overloading of passengers and goods by drivers.
They called on relevant authorities to take necessary action to minimise the problem.
