The Bauchi State Police Command has rescued a 45-year-old man abducted by armed men in Dagga village, Toro Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, said in a statement issued on Tuesday that the rescue operation followed prompt action on credible intelligence received by the Divisional Police Officer of Nabordo Division from a concerned resident.
According to him, at about 3:30 am on January 3, 2026, about 12 armed men stormed Dagga village and abducted one Kasimu Adamu.
“Upon receiving the report, a team of police operatives in collaboration with local hunters mobilised to the scene, engaged the suspects in a gun duel, and successfully rescued the victim unhurt, while the suspects fled,” SP Habib said.
The police said a manhunt has been launched to track the fleeing suspects, assuring that efforts are being intensified to bring them to justice.
Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu, in the statement, appealed to residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible information.
