An Area Court in Jos on Thursday sentenced a 40-year-old man, Mayowa Okunlola, to three months imprisonment for defrauding a businessman of N280,000.
The judge, Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced the convict after pleading guilty to breach of trust and deceit and begged the court for leniency.
The judge gave the convict an option of a N15,000 fine or three months imprisonment and asked him to pay the sum of N285,000 as compensation to the complainant or six months imprisonment in default.
