Fire ravages residential buildings, workshop in Oyo [PHOTOS] 

Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed in a fire that ravaged three residential buildings and a furniture workshop in Oyo town.

The first residential building is located at the Elegbo area of Sabo in Oyo. The incident occurred on Sunday.

It was learnt that one of the rooms in the building was affected. Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed, while no life was lost in the incident.

The second and third residential buildings are located at the Oke-Olola area of Oyo.

It was learnt that the fire incident, which affected the two buildings, also razed a furniture workshop. The incident occurred on Sunday.

No life was lost in the incident.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incidents.

In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday, Akinwande said: “Upon arrival, the third room on the right was engulfed by fire. The fire crew quickly swung into action, and the fire was restricted from spreading to the entire building and other properties. No casualty was recorded.

“Upon arrival, two private residential buildings and the furniture workshop were engulfed by fire. The fire crew quickly swung into action, and the fire was restricted from spreading to nearby buildings and other properties.”
