A 55-year-old farmer, Iliya Saidu, was killed by unknown assailants while on his way to his cassava farm in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
According to a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Monday, the incident occurred on Sunday at approximately 8:30 am.
Saidu, a resident of Step II, Karim town, had left home for his farm located between Gamu and Pira villages when he was attacked.
The Ward Councillor representing Karim ‘A’ Ward, Hon. Alison Adamu, reported the matter at the Karim-Lamido Police Division after Saidu was found dead.
Detectives visited the scene, took photographs, and the body was evacuated to the Comprehensive Health Centre, Karim-Lamido, for autopsy. After the examination, the corpse was released to the family for burial.
Investigation has commenced to identify and apprehend the attackers, and authorities stated that updates will be provided as the case progresses.
