Operatives of the Delta State Police Command’s Buffalo Patrol Team have arrested a 62-year old man, Nwanlioba Ikechukwu Dominic and five other suspects in possession of 3 pump action guns and 1 locally fabricated Dane gun, 1 battle axe, and 26 live cartridges.
The suspects were arrested on 22 January 2026 at about 1610 hours, DAILY POST can report.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the report in a statement in Warri.
He said, “On 22 January 2026 at about 1610 hours, operatives of the Command’s Buffalo Patrol Team, while on routine stop-and-search duty at the Head bridge boundary between Anambra and Delta States, intercepted a green Toyota Sienna travelling from Anambra State into Delta State.”
According to SP Edafe, “The occupants of the vehicle, all dressed in mufti, claimed to be in Delta State to welcome a visiting religious leader. However, a detailed search of the vehicle revealed a cache of concealed weapons, including three (3) pump-action guns, one (1) locally fabricated Dane gun, one (1) battle axe, and twenty-six (26) live cartridges.
“The suspects arrested in this operation are: Nwanlioba Ikechukwu Dominic (male, 62 years), Agbata Mathew (male, 35 years), Osita Chineye (male, 39 years), Favour Peterson (female, 23 years), Prince Tochukwu (male, 32 years), and Clement Nwakwa (male, 51 years).”
SP Edafe also noted that, “Suspects were taken into custody and an investigation is ongoing. “
