A 14-year-old boy, who was abducted along the Oweto–Otukpo route in Agatu Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue Statee, was rescued by operatives of the Benue State Civil Protection Guards during a routine patrol on Friday.
The rescue happened around 7:45 p.m. when the patrol team stopped a vehicle that appeared suspicious.
Upon noticing the security personnel, the kidnappers abandoned the boy at Egla in Agatu LGA and fled into the dark.
