The Oso family’s never-ending fight for supremacy and survival, using supernatural powers, continues in the tenth instalment of ‘Koleoso’.
In this ongoing saga, one thing is clear: nothing is promised, and nothing is guaranteed as the family is thrown into its most chaotic chapter yet.
Koleoso 9
A new player, Oluwere, is in town working with Oracle. Together, they lay siege to Koleoso and his family.
The intense battle leaves Osobola paralysed, Osowande captured, and Koleoso under some spell.
Even Osogbemi, Koleoso’s father, is defeated and left incapacitated.
For the first time, a higher power sets the Oso family in disarray.
Koleoso 10
To bail themselves from the degradation they suffered, the Oso family turn to prayers for love to unite them.
As they pray, the angel of death comes to harvest their souls. But the intensity of the prayers invokes the angel of light, who wards him off.
She then sends them on a journey to collect the powers they need to redeem themselves.
Koleoso, Osobola and Osowande embark on the journey to Origin land. There, they meet Osopade (Ibrahim Chatta), Koleoso’s great-grandfather.
He tells them the truth they have been avoiding. Iroko, the dark personality that torments them, is not human. He is a cruel creature who reincarnates whenever he is killed.
Osopade hands Koleoso a book like a family heirloom, full of all kinds of spells. The book is expected to heal Osogbemi.
Despite breaking the spell that left him incapacitated on one arm, Osogbemi lost his mind and became more interested in the mundane things of life.
When Jawesoro returns and successfully kidnaps Osowande, the Oso family rallies around, this time, led by Osopade, who takes the battle to Iroko for the mother of all battles.

Review
In cheering news that highlights the acceptance it has garnered, the ‘Koleoso’ film series has recently set a new YouTube record.
Days after the release of the 10th episode, it became the first Nollywood and African movie to surpass 100 million views on the platform as a single title.
Despite this feat, the movie raises some concerns among its loyal viewers.
Followers of the film series would agree that the last two episodes appear repetitive.
In the 9th episode, the Oso family went against Olowere in a fierce battle that ended with Osowande’s kidnapping.
In the 10th episode, the Oso family went against Iroko in a fierce battle that ended with Osowande’s kidnapping.
Slowly, ‘Koleoso’ is becoming devoid of drama and angling towards an incantations-and-power showcase.
When Osowande was born, his character was portrayed as the most powerful of them all and the one who would carry on the story. But slowly, Osowande’s powers seem to have been watered down, and his relevance wanes.
However, despite its shortcomings, ‘Koleoso’ still offers a refreshing story that may be Nollywood’s stake in the superhero movie realm.
Verdict: 6/10
