Authorities have filed a criminal charge against an unruly woman who was caught on camera attacking staff at a San Francisco restaurant in video footage that has since gone viral, Us Weekly has learned.
Police did not provide an age for Shireen Afkari, but they have formally charged the woman with public intoxication for an incident that unfolded in and outside of American restaurant Hazie’s on Hayes Street on Saturday, December 13, according to police.
The beginning of the three-minute-long TikTok footage appeared to show Afkari and a man named Christian in the middle of a heated discussion with restaurant workers. It is never explained in the video what they were arguing about, but the conversation quickly turned nasty, with curse words spewed. Soon after, Afkari appeared to smack the camera of the man filming her.
The action then shifted to Afkari and Christian grappling with some of Hazie’s employees. Then, out of nowhere, one of the female workers grabbed and lifted Afkari off the ground before slamming her hard to the floor. Afkari, seemingly unfazed, then returned to her feet and again started attacking the Hazie’s workers.

Eventually, the eatery’s workers managed to physically force the two of them outside onto the sidewalk as the rest of the restaurant’s patrons clapped and cheered at their removal.
The footage next showed a group of people struggling with Afkari, who appeared to be refusing commands to let go of the hair of one of the restaurant’s workers. Eventually, she loosened her grip, and the worker quickly retreated back to Hazie’s. Afkari somehow juked around the cluster of men who’d been trying to restrain her and started running towards the worker.
She appeared to claim that the worker had taken possession of her phone. In the footage, the long-haired victim appeared to throw her phone straight across the street. As she sprinted towards him, she was tripped by the victim, and she fell flat on her face. Afkari immediately begins to cry in the footage, and then begins yelling at Christian from the sidewalk, telling him to be “a f***ing man” and defend her.
The video cut off right as Christian appeared to start approaching the restaurant workers.

Police told KTVU that they were called at around 9:41 p.m. on Saturday regarding a person who had been “escorted” from the business.
Police said that officers arrived to find Afkari already outside Hazie’s.
“Officers developed probable cause to arrest the woman for public intoxication,” San Francisco Police Officer Robert Rueca told the station. “The suspect was transported to County Jail where she was detained for the public intoxication.”
It was unclear why Afkari has not been charged with assault, given what was captured in the footage. Police did say they are continuing to investigate the situation.
Based on publicly available information, Christian is not facing criminal charges.
Us Weekly was unable to reach Afkari for comment Wednesday. Hazie’s did not respond to voicemails seeking comment.
