Netflix just revealed who will be starring in their upcoming movie The Fifth Wheel, and it’s a total celebrity Mad Lib.
On Monday, January 26, the streaming service shared a photo of Kim Kardashian alongside Nikki Glaser, Fortune Feimster and Brenda Song, revealing that the film — which is set to be directed by Eva Longoria — is officially in production.
Glaser, Feimster and Song will play the core group of friends but their lives “are upended” when Kardashian’s character enters the picture. While they were not included in the cast photo, Jack Whitehall, Casey Wilson and Scott MacArthur are also set to star.
“A group of best friends from high school attempt to reconnect during a weekend jaunt to Vegas,” Netflix’s official description reads. “When a hot outsider (played by Kardashian) crashes the weekend, they’re forced to face their messy lives, bad decisions, and unraveling friendships.”
Internet users were quick to react to the image, with some excited about the prospect of a good female-led comedy.
“Hmmm, feels like they’re gunning for that girls trip energy,” one X user wrote. “We haven’t had a big R-rated female ensemble comedy in a while. The lane is wide open.”
A second noted that the cast was “about to serve,” praising all the girl power on set.

“Eva Longoria directing a Vegas reunion gone messy with this powerhouse cast? Count me in!” they wrote. “Friendship chaos + self-reflection sounds so real and needed right now.”
Others noted that it “sounds like fun,” when hearing what the film was about. Some were quick to praise the “great cast” as well.
While it seemed like most people were excited for the upcoming film, not all the responses were positive.
“Yo Kim K, you gotta Pack it up bruh. You’re s*** at acting,” one person wrote on X. Another predicted the movie was going to be “lame af.”
It was announced in November 2023 that Kardashian was set to produce and star in the Netflix movie. Deadline reported at the time that Kardashian was hands-on when it came to pitching the comedy to the streaming service and was in attendance at every meeting.
In May 2025, Longoria officially signed on to join the project as the director and producer with her and Cris Abrego’s Hyphenate Media Group. The movie will be produced with Kardashian along with writer Paula Pell, Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell and Alex Brown for Gloria Sanchez Productions. Mary Bundy and David Hyman are executive producers.
Kardashian has been bulking up her acting resume in recent years since making an appearance in season 12 of American Horror Story in September 2023. She also led the Hulu series All’s Fair late last year.
Before she started strengthening her acting muscles, Kardashian was apprehensive about appearing in anything scripted.
“Would I act? I would if something fun came about. Maybe a Marvel movie, that would be so fun to do,” she told Interview Magazine in September 2022. “I’m not actively looking, but I think things just come when they’re supposed to.”
