Popular singer, Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake, warmed the hearts of fans on Christmas Day after reuniting with his daughter, Zeenat; and her mother, Adijat, in a moment that quickly went viral.
A video shared on December 25, 2025 captured the award-winning artiste in a tender exchange with his daughter, holding her closely and planting a kiss on her cheek. Dressed in a simple black suit, Asake appeared happy as Zeenat, clad in an all-denim outfit, clung to him with a smile. The singer was also seen rubbing her arm affectionately, a quiet gesture that amplified the intimacy of the moment. Standing nearby, Adijat watched as father and daughter shared the embrace.
The reunion struck a chord with fans, particularly because it followed months of public family tension earlier in the year. In March, Asake’s father, Fatai Odunsi, had accused the singer of neglecting his family in a video that circulated widely online. Odunsi claimed he had not seen his son since 2022, when his health reportedly began to fail, alleging that despite Asake’s rise to fame, he had received no financial support.
The controversy deepened when Adijat also came forward, accusing the singer of abandoning their daughter for several years. She alleged that the rift began after Asake attained stardom, despite her financial support during his undergraduate years at Obafemi Awolowo University. According to her, she sustained his education through proceeds from her business, adding that Zeenat was born during that period, with Asake’s father playing an active role in caring for the child.
However, in a later interview with digital content creator, Aki Abolade, popularly known as Mrlilgaga, Odunsi appeared to strike a conciliatory tone, stating that all issues raised had been resolved. He was also seen praying for the singer, suggesting that peace had been restored within the family.
Beyond the emotional reunion, Asake’s festive homecoming included a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who warmly received and honoured the singer. He also returned to his alma mater, Obafemi Awolowo University, where he thrilled students with a lighthearted performance. In keeping with the institution’s long-standing tradition, the artiste prostrated before taking the stage, a symbolic gesture of respect required of all performers, regardless of their global status.
