A group of 416 qualitative researchers from 38 countries, led by Prof. Tanisha Jowsey of Bond University, Australia, has rejected the use of generative artificial intelligence applications in reflexive qualitative research, including reflexive thematic analysis and various phenomenological approaches.
The scholars, in a “global declaration rejecting GenAI,” said their decision was based on “methodological and ethical concerns.”
