The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has warned that 12 local government areas in Kebbi State are at risk of severe flooding during as the 2026 rainy season intensifies. The warning was issued during a stakeholders’ engagement on the National Disaster Preparedness and Response Campaign 2026 held in Birnin Kebbi. The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, sitting in Gudu, has ordered the remand of one Mr Suleiman Danjuma, over the alleged defilement of two minors. The defendant was arraigned before Justice M.M. Adamu. The defendant, represented by two counsels, pleaded “not guilty” to the two counts charged against him by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the FCT Command. Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two suspects for alleged involvement in the peddling of illicit drugs in Nkanu East Local Government Area of the state. The command also recovered quantities of substances suspected to be variants of Cannabis sativa, popularly known as Indian hemp, during separate intelligence-led operations.
