The Katsina State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, arrested 1,018 suspects and seized over 2.4 tonnes of illicit drugs across the state in 2025. The State Commander, Mr Samaila Danmalam, disclosed this on Tuesday during the command’s end-of-year press briefing in Katsina. Danmalam said the arrests and seizures were carried out through intelligence-led raids and patrols across various parts of the state, aimed at disrupting drug trafficking networks and curbing substance abuse. A Biomedical Laboratory Scientist, Mr Odeh Agabi, disclosed the findings to the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Abuja, highlighting implications for cervical cancer screening practices nationwide and policy.
