Binance is expanding further into traditional finance by launching options trading on more than 1,000 US stocks and exchange-traded funds for eligible users outside the United States.The options will be offered through Binance’s Abu Dhabi-regulated broker-dealer, Nest Trading, with orders routed to US-registered Alpaca Securities for execution, clearing, settlement and custody.The launch builds on Binance’s existing equities offering of more than 7,000 US stocks and ETFs and adds to a growing lineup of traditional financial products available through the platform.Unlike equity-linked perpetual futures, the options are physically settled, meaning users who exercise them receive or deliver the underlying shares.According to…

Lawyers representing opposing sides in a suit challenging President Bola Tinubu’s eligibility to contest the 2027 presidential election disagreed on Tuesday on the service of the filings in the case on Mr Tinubu. The suit was instituted by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Judge Inyang Ekwo adjourned the matter until 28 September for further mention. Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has expressed confidence that insecurity will soon be overcome in Nigeria, saying the Federal Government is intensifying security operations and planning to restore lasting peace across the country. Matawalle spoke on Monday in Kano during a condolence and assessment visit to the state government following the August 29 bandit attack on Chiroma village in Garun Mallam Local Government Area, Arise News reported. Apple Maps has officially changed the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America, as reported earlier by Bloomberg. The company joins Google in re-labeling the Great Lake following an executive order signed by President Donald Trump in the midst of a trade dispute with Canada.The Canadian version of Apple Maps still shows “Lake Ontario” when panning over the area, while international versions of the app show both names, according to Bloomberg. Google updated its map shortly after the name change went live in the US Geographic Names Information System (GNIS), but Apple waited a bit longer.

The International Monetary Fund announced an agreement with Senegal on Tuesday for a new $2.2-billion loan programme, after a prior deal was suspended following the discovery of previously unreported debt. The announcement comes nearly two years after Senegal’s current government, which rose to power on an opposition electoral victory, accused the former administration of ex-president Macky Sall (2012-2024) of having concealed the true extent of the west African country’s worrisome budgetary situation.
