The Bauchi State Police Command has foiled an attempt to steal a Toyota Hilux vehicle owned by the Bauchi emirate council.The incident was recorded on January 5, 2026, after Buhari Musa Umar, a staff member of the Bauchi Emirate Council, alerted a police patrol team at the Jos Road Roundabout about the theft. He explained that the vehicle had been parked at Inkiya Filling Station while the driver stopped briefly to purchase fuel. A Saudi-led coalition said on Wednesday that it had undertaken “limited pre-emptive strikes” in Yemen to stop UAE-backed separatists from expanding the conflict. The separatists seized large swathes of Yemeni territory last month, including much of Hadramawt province bordering Saudi Arabia, expelling Saudi-backed government forces. But last week, air strikes from the Saudi-led coalition and a counter-offensive on the ground pushed back the separatists. The Nasarawa State Police Command says it has successfully rescued four abducted children following a discreet and intelligence-led operation. The rescue followed a report received on December 31, 2025, at the New Nyanya Division in the Karu Local Government Area of the state, regarding the mysterious disappearance of the children under suspicious circumstances. Nigeria attracted nearly $14bn in combined foreign portfolio investment and foreign direct investment in the first nine months of 2025, driven by renewed investor confidence and wide-ranging economic and investment reforms, the Federal Government has stated. According to the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment on Tuesday, this $14bn in combined FPI surpasses the total inflows recorded in 2024.
