Artan is one of the referees selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He is widely regarded as one of the most respected referees in Africa. The Federal Capital Territory Police Command says it has launched an investigation into the death of a woman whose body was discovered in the Kubwa area of Abuja. The deceased was found on the Kubwa expressway on Tuesday, with her bag, which contained her identity card and other personal belongings, recovered a few metres from the body. Documents recovered from the deceased suggested she may have been a staff member of the FCT High Court.
