The Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, has signed the Harmonized Taxes and Levies (Approved List for Collection) Law, making it the third state to sign the legislation. The governor signed the bill into law on Monday in Awka, Anambra State, to conform with the federal government’s National Tax Reform Acts, taking effect from 1 January 2026. The Acting General Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Elizabeth Gabriel, has reacted to the reported suspension of its chairman, Pretty Okafor. PREMIUM TIMES reported that the PMAN National Executive Council, in a statement signed by its National Treasurer, Baba Ojonugwa, announced Mr Okafor’s suspension and named Sydney Sparrow as the association’s president. Nigeria ended the 2025 sports year with a 3–1 Africa Cup of Nations win over Uganda on Tuesday, 30 December. It was a positive note, but it did little to hide the bigger problems that shaped Nigerian sports throughout the year. A female police officer attached to the Sabo Police Division in Yaba, Lagos State, W/Inspector Alonge Bridget, has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, over alleged physical assault, threats to her life, sustained harassment, and professional misconduct by a senior officer at the station. In the petition, Alonge accused the Divisional Traffic Officer, DTO, W/DSP Josephine Okeme, of subjecting her to repeated acts of intimidation and violence while in uniform.
