A UK-based Nigerian writer, Dotun Olufokunbi, has released a new literary work on Yoruba cultural practices surrounding kingship, succession and ambition. A teenager in South Carolina has been accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend during an argument as her 3-year-old child sat on a nearby couch and called out to his mother using her name. A Delta State High Court in Ozoro has awarded a N310 million fine against the Nigeria Police Force and its officers for unlawful arrest, harassment and detention of a lawyer, Otedjere Jude. Justice E. O. Odebala awarded N300 million as compensation against the police for the unlawful arrest and detention of the lawyer from 29 September 2025 to 30 September 2025. Senator Victor Umeh has said that members of the National Assembly are now facing public attacks and insults over the recent controversy surrounding the amendment of the Electoral Act. An Osun State High Court sitting in Iwo on Thursday sentenced three men to death by hanging for the murder and dismemberment of a 52-year-old woman, Asiata Yekeen, in Ile-Ogbo community.
