Former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), days after former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege dumped the ruling party. Veteran actor Emeka Ike has opened up about his decision to contest the Abuja Bwari/AMAC Federal Constituency seat. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has warned sachet water producers to stop producing unregistered water and to renew expired licences or face punishment. The warning was given by the Director of NAFDAC in the South-South Zone, Chukwuma Oligbu, after the agency carried out an enforcement operation in parts of Rivers State, including Asari Toru, Akuku Toru, Degema, and Ikwerre Local Government Areas. The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued a kidnapped victim for whom N90 million was demanded as ransom. The captors had held the victim, Alhaji Sidiki Isah, a 54-year-old resident of Tambo Village in Girei Local Government Area, in their hideout and demanded N90 million from his family. Police operatives, however, succeeded in locating the captors’ hiding place and freed the victim from their custody. A Kenyan rights group said on Thursday it had filed a court petition against plans to establish an Ebola quarantine centre for US nationals in the East African country. Officers of the Edo State Police Command have arrest a suspect with 36 rounds of live cartridges during a routine stop-and-search operation in Benin City.
