The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has alleged that the last bomb explosions in Maiduguri, Borno State, were intended to discourage President Bola Tinubu from visiting the United Kingdom. A resident of Mittiri Village in Yobe State, Ibrahim Mittiri, has reportedly confessed to falsely accusing a local hunter of being a member of Boko Haram over a long-standing personal dispute. The incident was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama. Security sources said the matter began on May 24 when Mittiri allegedly informed another resident, Umar Abdullahi, popularly known as Gajeri, that the hunter, Aji Ibrahim, was linked to the terrorist group.
