Meta is reportedly set to lay off around 10% of staff from its metaverse arm this week, as the tech giant focuses its resources on artificial intelligence. Meta could announce the cuts as soon as Tuesday, the New York Times reported on Monday, citing sources.Meta’s Reality Labs has around 15,000 staff members. Barely 24 hours after gunmen attacked a Benue Links bus along the Otukpo axis of Benue State, suspected armed herders have killed a retired soldier in the town, deepening fears over the security situation. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has instructed tertiary institutions implicated in flawed admission practices to reverse such admissions with immediate effect. The Board said it uncovered cases in which candidates with stronger rankings were allegedly overlooked in favour of those with lower scores, a development it warned runs contrary to the rules guiding admissions into Nigerian higher institutions.
