The 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army under the 81 Division on Friday witnessed a change of command as Brigadier General Friday Onu assumed office as the new commander. The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has announced former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as his running mate. Obi made the announcement on Saturday after his official confirmation as the NDC presidential candidate. DAILY POST reports that the NDC on Saturday declared Obi its presidential candidate ahead of next year’s general elections. The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Akwa Ibom Command, says it booked 51 traffic offenders during the Eid-el-Kabir special patrol operation conducted during the celebrations. The Osun State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party has said women in the state should play more prominent roles in government, describing them as “courageous, capable and strong enough” to deliver if trusted with power.
