The Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, on Tuesday took to the streets of Ikeja, Lagos State, to hold a solidarity rally over the kidnapping of school children and teachers in Oyo State. In a video cited, the protesters were seen in large numbers demanding for authorities to rescue the victims in the recent oyo state kidnapping. Some were seen holding placards with messages such as “End the religion of fear in our schools”, “let teachers teach in peace”. The Federal High Court sitting in Calabar has sentenced Ezea Kamchukwube, a female, to eight years’ imprisonment for the illegal operation of two pharmacies in Calabar, Cross River State. The convict was arraigned before the court on charges bordering on operating pharmacies without registration and allowing unqualified persons to dispense drugs, contrary to the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (Establishment) Act, 2022.
